The Doerner Institut is also a leader in high-resolution digital infrared reflectography. This technique is used to show up underdrawings on paintings that are invisible to the naked eye.
The high-resolution unit based on a VASARI scanner is equipped with a Vidicon camera and an InGaAs CCD camera. The years of successful research and development in this area were supported by funds from the European Commission (the VASARI and MARC projects) and from the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (the MUßINI project). ![]()
