Under a cooperation agreement, the Doerner Institut is affiliated with the conservation course Restoration, Art Technology and Conservation Science” of the Munich Technical University where staff members of the Doerner Institut teach lecture courses, laboratory courses and seminars. The institute also offers a limited number of traineeships to students of the Technical University during their semester breaks. Pre-university internships are not offered. However, by special arrangement, the Doerner Institut does supervise term papers, diploma theses and doctoral dissertations.

Immediately following the completion of their studies, graduate conservators are offered two one-year voluntary traineeships in the conservation department to give them hands-on experience in the workshops of a large museum (coordination via schmidt.j@doernerinstitut.de).

Please understand that, due to time constraints, it is not possible for us to respond to external questions and questionnaires by students regarding certain types of pigment detection, techniques etc., which are not related to research work supervised by a member of the institute.
