The knowledge gathered in connection with research in art technology makes it possible to detect forgeries. The Doerner Institut provides consulting services and expert reports for governmental agencies, freelance conservators, the art market and private individuals against reimbursement of costs.

Due to current staff shortage, the scientific examination of paintings on the base of pigment analyses or other technological features is unfortunately not possible between February 2010 and January 2011. Due to the current workload in the area of paint media analyses, you have to accept a much longer waiting time. As usual, the institute offers the production of digital infrared reflectograms.
