The main conservation task at the Doerner Institut is the care of the approx. 25,000 objects that make up the collections of the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen. These are distributed over the three Munich Pinakothek buildings and their depositories, twelve branch galleries in Bavaria and approx. 450 sites, some in foreign countries, where art objects on loan from the Bayerische Staatsgemälde- sammlungen are exhibited.
